Liwei Xuan

Mr. Liwei Xuan is a Partner at Fondee IP Law LLC, qualified as both a Patent Attorney and an Attorney at Law. With over 20 years of experience in the mechanical and electromechanical sectors, he advises multinational and domestic corporations on intellectual property protection and strategy.

Throughout his career, Mr. Xuan has handled over 3,000 patent applications. His technical practice covers mechanical products, manufacturing processes, electromechanical equipment, vehicle engineering, home appliances, automated control systems, and optical modules.

Mr. Xuan's practice encompasses the full lifecycle of intellectual property. Drawing on his extensive courtroom experience, he regularly represents clients in complex patent infringement litigation, administrative litigation, and patent invalidation (cancellation) proceedings. Additionally, he advises on Freedom to Operate (FTO) analyses, IP licensing negotiations, and overall enforcement strategies.

Mr. Xuan began his IP career in 2006 at China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA), where he focused on cross-border patent matters, before joining Fondee as a Partner in 2019. To further deepen his understanding of international IP frameworks, he completed professional training in European patent practice in Germany and U.S. patent practice in the United States. His representative clients include Volkswagen, Porsche, Carl Zeiss, and Siemens.

Mr. Xuan earned his Master's degree from the Chinesisch-Deutsches Hochschulkolleg (CDHK) at Tongji University, where he also received his Bachelor's degree. His working languages are Chinese, English, and German.
