Shuyi Xia

Ms. Shuyi Xia is a Patent Attorney at Fondee IP Law LLC. Entering the intellectual property profession in 2017 and qualifying as a patent attorney in 2019, she focuses on comprehensive patent prosecution and global IP strategy in the fields of optical engineering, integrated circuits, and computer science. She joined Fondee IP in September 2025.

Ms. Xia's technical expertise spans both hardware and software, covering integrated circuit design, advanced display technologies, optical engineering, artificial intelligence, digital image processing, precision instruments, and sensor technology. Her practice encompasses the full spectrum of patent prosecution. Beyond domestic patent drafting and office action responses, she is highly experienced in managing cross-jurisdictional patent prosecution in the United States and Europe. In substantive examination procedures, she is adept at handling highly complex technical disclosures and navigating challenging office actions to secure robust patent rights. She also provides in-depth Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analyses and patent portfolio assessments, assisting enterprises in mitigating infringement risks and structuring core technology patents.

Prior to joining Fondee IP, Ms. Xia practiced at China Science Patent & Trademark Agent Ltd. (CSPTAL) from 2017 to 2020, and subsequently at Liu, Shen & Associates from 2020 to 2025. Over her extensive career, she has drafted a large volume of high-value patent applications and managed complex prosecution cycles, accumulating deep practical experience in transforming sophisticated R&D achievements into stable global IP assets.

Ms. Xia has extensive experience advising major technology corporations on their core patent portfolios. Her representative clients include BOE, where she focused on optical designs and display panel architectures; ByteDance, JD.com, and NetEase, handling patents related to internet technologies, AI algorithms, and data processing; as well as Hygon Information and Lenovo, managing applications involving processor architectures, integrated circuits, and consumer electronics.

Ms. Xia holds a Master's degree in Optical Engineering from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments from Hefei University of Technology. Her rigorous academic training, encompassing applied optics, digital image processing, artificial intelligence, precision mechanical design, and automatic control, provides her with a distinct multidisciplinary advantage. This unique combination of hardware and software expertise enables her to deeply understand and protect complex systems, ranging from precision opto-electromechanical equipment to AI-driven algorithms. She works in Chinese and English.
